David M. Smith is the Founder and Principal of DMS Indirect Tax, LLC and has more than thirty years of experience advising Fortune 500, middle-market, and privately held businesses on sales and use tax matters.
Prior to founding DMS, David spent approximately twenty years in public accounting, including serving as an EY Partner/Principal and Southeast Sales & Use Tax Practice Leader. Prior to EY, David served as BDO’s Southeast Sales & Use Tax Co-Practice Leader.
David also spent eight years with General Electric Company where he held tax and audit leadership roles supporting large, complex business operations.
